Showing my Age
By Arley Steinhour 090116
Look into my eyes, to make me yours,
I cry out, to the photographic dreamer,
Many lives have crossed my doors,
from quiet of thought, to the screamer.
Lives filled with Love, some, with Pain,
Make me want to be beautiful,
And filled with young children, again,
To give me new life that's bountiful.
Note, light in upper window-pain,
Perhaps, a hint of life left, in me,
Or, is it just the Sun, once again,
shining through round-window, you see.
My paint eroded, my sleek beauty gone,
My shingles leak, as the siding rots,
When you pass by, sing my song,
Where I'm going, people call 'Plots.'
(Photo-Inspired, as 'Tennessee Ernie Ford's, This Old House)' (My lyrics)
This Old House ain't getting Younger,
This Old House is getting Old,
Can't take the Wind, much Longer,
No more, standing Tall and Bold.
Ain't-gonna live this life, much longer,
Ain't-gonna breath Mortal, any more,
Getting Ready, to Meet my Maker,
I'm heading for the Yonder Shore.
This Old House ain't got no Steeple,
This Old House cannot be Sold,
City-Life's, now, for most People,
They who want me, are Much too Old.
Ain't-gonna live this life, much longer,
Won't breath Mortal, any more,
Getting Ready to Meet my Maker,
I'm heading for the Yonder Shore.
Someday, up in Heaven Land,
Feeling young and full of strength,
Praising Jesus, at the Throne,
For the Full, Eternal, Length.
Ain't-gonna live this life, much longer,
Ain't-gonna breath Mortal, any more,
Getting Ready to Meet my Maker,
I'm heading for the Yonder Shore.
