My Personal Goal
My Personal Goal
By Arley Steinhour 073016
Dear Lord, thank you for the past four days,
Garage installed, and all things, looking good,
Re-designed for function, in many useful ways,
Be it Motor Home, plus boat, or stack of wood.
Sad thing is, now that I'm broke again,
The 'Plus' toys, must have a 'Rain-check,'
Perhaps, in ten or twenty years, as God, Deigns,
I'd be too old to drive, Oh well, what the heck.
The Building dresses up yard, with a 'backdrop color,'
That, flowers and trees, can Shine, in the Sun,
Making progress in removing 'Property Squalor,'
Then, maybe, City Board, and village, I may 'Stun.'
I didn't move here, to live in Eden's 'Garden,'
I bought, that I might have one, a big one,
But, alas, my health, gave me no Pardon,
So, my farming/gardening, days are done.
As I can afford, the cost of upgrading,
I will follow my plans for improvement,
Without the necessity, of any upbraiding,
And the understanding, I'm not being Truant.
To 'Cash and Carry,' the only way out of debt,
A hard lesson to learn, with the pressure of life,
With Air Conditioner, I don't break a sweat,
At my PC, I Praise God, for this, and, my 'After Life.'
My needs are all cared for, in my Retirement,
Once in a while, I take 'Walker' for a stroll,
I'd rather author Praise, for Heavens Enjoyment,
Trolling for Church/Family, as 'My Personal Goal.'
AMEN
