Christmas Back on Shelf
By Arley Steinhour 122815
Christmas, boxed, and Back on the Shelf,
Countdown to next one, kept by Santa's Elf,
Who's very good and what he does,
Christmas, next year, same date, as it was.
It don't take rocket science, for one to know,
That Christmas truly, 'Steals' the Show,
Money spent for gifts, each year, more grand,
Soon to be scattered, on the trash ground land.
You work all year, to pay the debt,
Each year, more need, for a 'working' duet,
About the time you don't need to fret,
Another, hoped-for child, you may beget.
There's a more important 'Debt, to Pay,'
But most folks just look, 'the other way,'
One word, not 'Christmas,' can clear a room,
Faster than a dust-storm, or witch on a broom.
'Jesus,' the name, that doesn't compete,
Yet, 'Jesus,' pays your 'Sin-Bills,' complete,
He pay's 'Sin-Bills,' you can't overthrow,
He is 'DEBT-FREE,' and He doesn't OWE.
By, turning to Him, Christmas bills won't count,
As Holy Spirit, helps you, your debt to surmount,
You'll focus on things, more important than 'Play,'
To live a DEBT-FREE Life, Forever, and a DAY.
AMEN
