Christmas Feast
Christmas Feast
By Arley Steinhour 122615
With all that tasty food, I did cook,
Two wing propellers, is all it took
To fill to the brim, my diet forsaken,
Weight-gaining machine, did awaken.
Turkey, and Stuffing, turned out great,
As, I stuffed it in face, from my plate,
With Jesus, sitting, close at my side,
He didn't eat, and, I think, He almost cried.
But, I know why, He didn't partake,
He'd eaten before, this was coffee break,
I sang His Praises, in between bites,
Enjoying the company and night sky lights.
Christmas music, played on my PC, Streaming,
As I sipped my eggnog, with Praises Ringing,
I wasn't alone, as some would think,
Jesus was there, even at dish-filled sink.
I would have loved to have family at side,
But, now, my children are scattered wide,
With families, to lead, and Grandchildren, young,
They make their own memories, my song is sung.
So, Hug one another, as if I was there,
Casually sitting in a comfortable chair,
I thought of you all, included in my prayer,
So Jesus watches over you, is all I care.
AMEN
