Church Composition
Church Composition
By Arley Steinhour 121315
(Inspired by Bill Sebastian article)
It's the 'People, that Assemble,'
Not the building, with a 'pew,'
'Church,' should then, resemble,
'Believers,' no less than two.
Buildings can't pray,
Nor, can one take wing, and fly,
They can be used for storing hay,
Or be a shelter, in which to cry.
First Christians, met in dark rooms,
Sometimes, deep underground,
Some, even, met in dead man tombs,
Or, any safe place, they found.
The leaders of a 'Church Group,'
When the Church became a 'flock,'
Determined a building, not a coup,
Would be a place, to lure, with fancy rock.
The 'expert,' of the diocese,
The only one able to read,
Ordered the Church, to be on its knees,
As he Read, the word, so Church must heed.
Anyone who turned away,
Or even dared to question,
Was treated like a 'Cur-Stray,'
And subjected to repression.
The story, doesn't end there,
But, it say's what must be said,
The 'Church,' is 'People,' who care, (Mat 18:20
Reborn in Jesus, in heart and head.
AMEN
