With Spirits Warning
With Spirits Warning
By Arley Steinhour 112915
I write a story, about a 'Church,'
That worried about clothing worn,
If dingy, or warn, man left in lurch,
Not Allowed, until much better shorn.
One Sunday morning, one walked in,
His clothing all bloody and torn,
Face Ashen Gray, loaded with Sin,
The look on Church faces, 'Foresworn.'
A Deacon, approached and gave him the news,
Dingy Attire, not welcome, in our Pews,
The man had a choice, 'Dress-up, or Excuse,'
He cannot come worship without worthy shoes.
A tear, came to 'Streetman's' eye, as he departed,
Each step out the door, dust puffed from his feet,
With Spirit's Warning, Deacon was broken hearted,
As he chased the dirty man, to steps, and the street.
Expecting to easily overtake the, dirty, slow, man,
The Deacon, almost flew through the door, to find,
Not a person on street, or walk, ruining his plan,
To, allow him to sit, in the back, as 'due his Kind.'
Reborn, all know, Church is Laodicean type 'Dross,'
Pleased, with Wealth, and Beauty, in their Worship,
Forgetting, the man, had just been on 'Their Cross,'
To show Church, they'd forgotten, their Relationship.
Look to your heart, and see where you stand,
Are your Laodicean, or Philadelphian,
Do you praise yourself, or Mission the Land,
Are you Disciple Jesus, or, a Luke/Warm, Pedestrian?
AMEN
