Overcoming Black Friday
Overcoming Black Friday
By Arley Steinhour 112715
How much money do you have in the Bank?
How much Credit can you sign for, in the Blank?
How many months will it take you to Pay,
To show you love Jesus, celebrating 'His Birthday?'
I open this box, of 'worms,' in this way,
To notice, today, is called 'Black Friday,'
When, 'Savings, and more, are offered to you,
To purchase at discount, with Credit,' Untrue.
Look to your family, and the interest you'll pay,
That could have done 'more,' if you 'Charge, Not,' today,
Lock up the Credit, and be frugal with money,
So, for the next year, your toast will have Honey.
Don't listen to man, about all you will miss,
Turn heart to Jesus, and He'll give you His Kiss,
The Kiss, of Redemption, and Salvation, Eternal,
In Heaven, with Him, for the 'Eighth Day,' Supernal.
Gifts, in early Forties, were mostly, hand-made,
With War, in the World, children's wants were outweighed,
Metals were needed, to keep this country Free,
We couldn't understand, but it saved you and me.
'Black Friday,' then, lasted more than Five Years,
Bringing Death, to so many, and others, to Tears,
But from this Black Friday, we can all, 'Turn Away,'
And, perchance go to Church, to 'Eternal Stay.'
Helping the needy, is a gift, long remembered,
A plastic, toy truck, is quickly dismembered,
What we do for the 'Needy,' we do for His 'Least,'
With Christian Love, we can defeat the Beast.
Look to Christmas Day, as the 'Birth of Charity,
Love, and Salvation,' having an Eternal Clarity,
Take a Poor Family, along, and feed them a meal,
So, after Tribulation Sorting, this Land, He will Heal.
AMEN
