Psalm 114 with Poetic Flare
Psalm 114 with Poetic Flare
By Arley Steinhour 082015
Psa 114:1 When Israel went out of Egypt, (land),
This house of Jacob, (from slaveries brand),
From a people (with a) strange language;
(We have the beginning of a 'New Age').
Psa 114:2 Judah was (Jacob's) sanctuary,
Over, Israel, his (Tribal) dominion ('wherry'),
Psa 114:3 The sea saw (Them), and fled:
Jordan, driven back, (for dry dirt to tread).
Psa 114:4 The mountains, were skipped like rams,
(Causing some delays, like traffic jams,)
The little hills danced), like (prancing) lambs,
(Easy to cross, plus, some 'Return to Egypt scams).
Psa 114:5 What ailed you, O sea, that (you) fled,
And Jordan, as you also, (rolled back to dry bed)?
Psa 114:6 Ye mountains, we skipped like rams,
And you little hills, (where We danced), like lambs?
Psa 114:7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the God of (our father), Jacob's (horde),
Psa 114:8 Which, turned the rock to a standing water;
(And), The flint into a fountain, (for sons and daughters).
AMEN
