Psalm Six with Poetic Flare
Psalm Six with Poetic Flare
By Arley Steinhour 081715
Psa 6:1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith,
A Psalm of David.
O LORD, rebuke me not in Your anger,
Neither chasten me with hot displeasure,
Psa 6:2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, my God,
For I am weak, like a beating of a Rod.
Heal me, back to eternal whole,
For my bones are vexed, as is my Soul;
Psa 6:3 My soul cries out, O LORD, how long,
Psa 6:4 Before your Return, for your Bridal Throng.
Deliver our souls: save for your mercy sake,
Psa 6:5 In death, is no remembrance of thy stake:
Once, in the grave who shall give You thanks?
Psa 6:6 I am weary with groaning, as of rotten planks.
All the night I make my bed swim;
I water my couch with fears, so grim,
Psa 6:7 My eye is consumed because of grief;
It waxes old, when enemy gives no relief.
Psa 6:8 Depart from me, you unjust and creeping,
For the LORD has heard my voice, of sad weeping.
Psa 6:9 The LORD hath heard my postulation,
The LORD will receive my prayer, with Wrath Creation.
Psa 6:10 Let all my enemies, be ashamed, and sore vexed,
Let them return, ashamed, and completely perplexed.
AMEN
