***1000 Yard Rusher Alert***-Third Time Around
*Quinn Bailey-Chadron - Holy Cow! Bailey rambled for 324 yards on a massive 38 carries and two touchdowns in Chadron's 22-6 victory over Gothenburg. The remarkable Bailey also caught 3 passes for 24 yards and a TD and made 7 tackles on defense.
Bailey became a three time 1000 yard rusher last Friday night and is the first one in Nebraska to reach 1000 yards rushing this season, upping his total to 1,119 yards in just FOUR games.
More exciting yet is that Quinn Bailey reached the 4,609 career rushing yards mark last Friday.
Quinn has carried the football a grueling 632 carries during his 33 game career, yet still averaged 7.3 yards a pop on every single one.
Through four games this season, the Iron Man Bailey has averaged 280 yards and 35 carries a game. I pray this amazing running back can stay durable long enough to reach the coveted 5000 yard career rushing mark.
On the other hand, at the pace the Chadron superstar is on, Bailey could rack up those needed 391 yards in a game and a half.
*Conor Booth-Wahoo Neumann - After 29-25 and 44-34 losses to Hastings St. Cecilia the past two seasons, it must have been payback time for Wahoo Neumann, and how. Conor Booth erupted for 313 yards on 13 carries and six touchdowns in a 73-7 victory over the Bluehawks. Booth averaged 23.3 yards per carry in that game.
Connor Booth is another running back chasing that 5000 yard career rushing mark. Right now, the nearly unstoppable Booth’s career rushing total is at 4,110 yards in 31 games, putting him well within reach of that sought after 5000 career yard mark.
*Madden Riggs, Gavin Shanahan, Landon Tate, Storm Defense-Elkhorn South - Riggs completed 6 of 8 passes for 149 yards and 3 TDs in the Storm’s 49-14 win over Grand Island. Shanahan broke loose for 157 yards on 19 touches with 3 TDs covering 4, 64 and 10 yards. Landon Tate had a 66 yard punt return touchdown and the Storm defense limited GI to 154 yards of total offense in the contest and only 51 during the opening half when Elkhorn South sprinted to a 42-0 lead.
*Beau Rohrich-Wood River- A 37-14 loss to Boone Central didn't slow down Beau Rohrich’s 2024 ground gaining assault. The Eagles senior shook loose for 154 yards on 22 carries, elevating his 4 game total to 584 yards. Rohrich also hauled in a 25 yard scoring pass in the game.
