Week Two Friday Night Lights Football Heroes - 11-Man
*Tony Palmer-South Sioux City-Senior sensation exploded for a massive 390 yards on 28 carries with 7 touchdowns in the 49-26 win over Sioux City West. The seven TDs appears to tie a Class A state record for rushing touchdowns in a single game.
*Jett Thomalla-Millard South -Junior sensation hit 22 of 31 aerials for 395 yards and Six TDs in Millard South’s 56-0 victory over Millard West.
*Braylen Warren-Omaha Westside - 6-2, 195 sophomore was very sharp in the defending Class A champions 48-3 win over Columbus. Warren completed 17 of 26 passes for 351 yards and 4 touchdowns, raising his two game total to 545 yards passing and six TDs.
*Madden Riggs, Gavin Shanahan, Jaydon Sutko, Landon Tate, Brody Parks-Elkhorn South - In Elkhorn South’s 38-14 win over Bellevue West, Madden Riggs hit 10 of 15 passes for 170 yards and a TD, Gavin Shanahan rushed for 143 yards and a TD on 17 carries, Sutko ran 7 times for 79 yards with two scores and caught five passes for another 90 yards.
*Landon Tate returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and trusty Brody Parks went 5 for 5 on PAT kicks and booted a 41 yard field goal.
*Tristan Campbell-McCook - 5-9, 155 pound junior ripped the Aurora defense for 254 yards on 30 carries and 3 touchdowns in McCook's 33-14 win. That followed a 192 yards on 15 touches/2 TD performance in the 56-6 opening game “W” over Beatrice.
*Michael Knudsen, Bryce Lakers-Gretna -Quarterback Michael Knudsen and WR Bryce Lakers, both juniors, appear to have hooked up for a pair of Class B state records in the Dragons 52-45 win over Norris.
Knudsen was 21 of 29 passing for 514 yards and 6 TDs. The 514 passing yards breaks the previous record of 508 yards in a single game.
Bryce Lakers caught 11 passes for 312 yards and 4 touchdowns, the 312 receiving yards breaking the old record of 311 set by South Sioux City's Nate Rogers in 2012.
*Joseph Andreasen-Lincoln Pius X - 200 pound senior rambled for 165 yards on 27 totes and 3 touchdowns in the Bolts 35-28 win over Blair.
*Quinn Bailey-Chadron - Quinn is going crazy with the rushing stats. Week One it was 38 carries for 219 yards against Broken Bow, last week he had one less carry but rolled for 313 yards and three TDs in a 43-7 win over Valentine. Bailey is over halfway to a thousand yards rushing in just TWO games. BALLER!
*Kip Brigham-Wahoo - Zipped for 199 yards on just 11 carries with TD scampers of 26, 63 and 65 yards in the Warriors 28-14 win over Ashland-Greenwood.
*Braylon Anderson-Oakland-Craig - Completed 10 of 12 passes for 305 yards and 6 TDs in the Knights 65-21 win over North Bend. Corbin Guill (2 catches-128 yds), Jaxon Jorgensen (3-66) and Sylas Nelson (2-61) each caught a pair of scoring passes in the win.
*Parker Zikmund, Wyatt Dent-Central City - Bison juniors hooked up for big yardage and a pair of TDs in Central City’s unbelievable heartbreaking 56-55 loss to Cozad. Zikmund hit 30 of 49 passes for 477 yards and 6 TDs while the speed demon Dent caught 13 passes for 191 yards and those two scores.
*Noah Shoemaker, Oliver Davis-Cozad - In that wild 56-55 win over Central City, QB Shoemaker threw for 391 yards and 7 touchdowns and ran in the winning 2 point conversion. Oliver Davis caught 9 passes for 148 yards and three TDs in the Haymakers huge win.
*Landon Hartzog, Kegan Steinke, Nicholas Weides-Holdrege - Senior QB Hartzog connected on 10 of his 16 passes for 223 yards and three TDs in the Dusters 43-15 win over Alliance. Weides reeled in two of Hartzog’s 10 passes for 39 yards and a score. He then brought the crowd to its feet with an 85 yard kick return touchdown. Weides also made 7 stops on defense.
Kegan Steinke provided the spark on the ground for Holdrege with 150 yards and a TD on 23 carries. Holdrege is 2-0.
*Conor Booth-Wahoo Neumann - 269 yards on 17 totes with 4 TDs in the Cavs 40-0 win over Yutan.
*Asa Wegrzyn-Lincoln Christian - 5-8, 165 pound senior ran for 91 yards on just 9 carries and 3 TDs in the Crusaders 55-19 win over Wilber-Clatonia. Now, that follows a huge 227 yards on 15 carries performance which included 2 TDs in the 28-14 Spirit Sword win over Lincoln Lutheran.
*Beau Rohrich-Wood River - Finally healthy, the 5-11, 208 pound senior ran for 154 yards on 15 carries and three scores in the 2-0 Eagles 33-14 win at Hershey.
