A History of Nebraska 8-Man Football - 1999 Class D-1/D-2 Playoffs, All-State Teams and Final Ratings.
*119 Nebraska High School Football Teams played 8-Man football in 1999.
1999 certainly seemed like an exceptional year for 8-Man 1 football with eight of the 32 qualifying round teams coming in unbeaten. FOUR those teams with spotless records made up the class D1 semifinals with Lawrence/Nelson, Medicine Valley, Bancroft-Rosalie and Humphrey St. Francis ALL still remaining with 11-0 records.
The combined records of the eight quarterfinal teams was even an amazing 75-4. That should make Doctor Jon Cerny’s 1999, 13-0 Bancroft-Rosale pretty special in my opinion, mowing down unbeaten Cedar Bluffs, unbeaten Falls City Sacred Heart, unbeaten Humphrey St. Francis and unbeaten Lawrence/Nelson on the way to the Class D-1 title.
