2024 NEMFCA 8-Man Hall of Fame Inductee Salutes - Brian Hahn
BRIAN HAHN – HAMPTON HIGH SCHOOL
(Here is our first of twelve salutes to our NEMFCA 2024 Hall of Fame inductees.)
From 1974 to 1977, Brian dominated both sides of the ball while playing for the high-powered Hawks teams of that era and Hall of Fame Coach Jim Connick. He was joined by his twin brother Mike in forming a one-of-a-kind Hall of Fame backfield during both his junior & senior campaigns. Brian played a key role on two state runner-up teams (1976 & 1977) on a Hampton squad that went a combined 22-2 in those seasons. During his highly-decorated prep career, he was recognized as the state’s leading rusher (1,711 yards), named a multi-time All Crossroads Conference selection, and was also honored as an All-Area and All-State running back as well. After High school, Brian was selected to play for the East All-Stars in the very first Eight Man All-Star Game in 1978. Brian’s fondest memories include competing in Nebraska’s historic first Eight-Man Football State Championship, the first Eight-Man All Star Game, and most of all- getting to play with and for fellow Hall of Famers- Mike Hahn and Jim Connick. The NEMFCA is honored to now welcome him into the Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
1000 Yard Guy observations ...My 1976 Bobby Mills 1000 Yard Rushing Champion, Brian Hahn was a master at following the blocks of guys like Randy Sabata and twin brother Mike Hahn, who was a member of our very first NEMFCA Hall of Fame in 2017. Brian’s single season rushing record of 1,711 yards stood for 31 years before being eclipsed by Alex Dose. Brian Hahn was a smooth, gliding running back for the Hawks whom I had the pleasure of seeing more than once. Very deserving of this fabulous honor.
