Sertoma 8-Man Football Game Rosters Announced

The 2024 Sertoma 8-Man All-Star game will feature EMF's record setting running back Breckan Schlueter (#8), who rushed for an incredible 7,411 yards during his career.

The Nebraska Eight Man Football Coaches Association has released the rosters for its annual Sertoma 8-Man All-Star game.

The game, in its 47th year, will be contested at Hastings College on Saturday, June 15th. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 pm.

The East All-Stars will enjoy the luxury of handing the ball off to former EMF record crusher, Breckan Schlueter, who rambled for 3,012 yards a year ago and an incredible 7,411 big ones during his career. That ranks 5th highest all-time, regardless of class.

If the East decides to throw, which is normally a must in this powerfully defensive tilt, they have Johnson-Brock quarterback Sloan Pelican, who fired for 35 touchdowns with only 4 interceptions last Fall.

Also available is former Palmyra rifle-armed Drew Erhart, who threw for a fat 6,177 yards during his illustrious four year career. In addition to that, Erhart passed (1,001 yards) AND rushed (1,286) for over a thousand yards in 2023.

Who will catch those passes, you ask? There’s Stanton flier Mitchell Hupp. a :10.88/:22.2 burner who hauled in 17 touchdown passes and 820 receiving yards and Wynot’s sure-handed Carson Wieseler, who caught 57 aerials for 720 yards.

Meanwhile, the West All-Stars can counter with a vicious, star-studded defense boasting headhunters like the Sandhills-Thedford crunching duo of Rhett McFaddenn and Zeb Wilde, who combined for a sick 317 stops a year ago for the Class D-2 State Champion Knights.

Also there to gobble up ball carriers and bedevil quarterbacks are North Platte St. Pats monster Breckan Erickson, Sack Master Trey Appelt of Ainsworth and a group of hard-hitters like Alex Malzahn (Alma), Joey Sallach of South Loup, Elgin PPJ’s Dylon Lueking, Wyatt Urkoski (High Plains and quarterbacks Saylor Rhodes of Weeping Water and Mullen’s Chase Gracey if their coaches choose to have them play on that side of the football.
