1000 Yard Guy’s 2019 All-State Basketball Teams

Here are my Class by Class All-State selections for 2019. I have replaced Super-State (All-Nebraska) with a new format at that appears at the conclusion of this blog.

Be advised that Classes A, B and D-2 First Team selections include a “6th Man” player. Why? There are six players deserving of First Team status in those classes, and I simply could not drop anyone down to 2nd team status after lengthy reviews of each player.

This is new and replaces a Super-State (All-Nebraska) team, which is limited to 5 players in basketball. Instead, this is a collection of players, regardless of class, who deserve extra credit for being amongst the very best basketball players in the state.

Unlike my previous Super-State selections, there is no set number of players and no limit on those numbers from year to year. This fits my style and beliefs on choosing All-State teams.

Personally, I just do not want to be limited on the number of players I consider to be “The Best” in Nebraska. The number of “Special” basketball players simply varies each season and this format will allow them all to be included.
