Nebraska High School Football Pre-Season Ratings (Consensus)

Let’s have a little fun with pre-season football ratings. Three sources publish these ratings prior to the start of each high school football season and they are;

The Omaha World-Herald by Stu Pospisil, Lincoln Journal-Star by Ron Powell, who take the reins from long time prep rater Ryly Jane Hambleton, and Huskerland Prep Report by Bob Jensen, the recently inducted Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame football Guru.

I simply assigned points on a declining scale, 10 points for a No. 1 rating, 9 for a N. 2 rating, 8 for No. 3, all the way down to 1 point for a No. 10 rating. We add he three and come up with our consensus ratings.

All three of these guys know the game of Nebraska Prep football very well. Ron Powell, the “new” guy has been around as long as I can remember doing the girls end of things, but nonetheless, knows the boys side of high school sports as well as anyone.

There will be 6 Classes with consensus ratings, A thru D-2. Only Stu Pospisil did a 10 slot 6-Man pre-season Top 10. Ron Powell offered a Top 5, while Bob Jensen did not do a 6-Man pre-season poll.
