Omaha high school sports enthusiast Mike Sautter has announced that he will once again stage the 7v7 State Football Championships. Sautter, the creater of both http://NebraskHSFootball.com and http://nebraskahshoops.com/ websites, created the Tournament a year ago and and 24 high school football teams from around the state participated in the all day event.
The maiden voyage of this Tournament was a huge success and Sautter hopes to make the 2016 version even more exciting and successful for high school football teams, coaches, and fans alike.
Mike Sautter is simply one of the hugest promoters of high school sports in the State of Nebraska, especially basketball for goodness sakes. Any money this gentleman takes in is put right back into the very passion he has.......promoting high school sports and high school athletes.
There just are not many "Mike Sautters" hanging out in this state that are will to give so much and ask for nothing in return. It's called "giving back".
Here is the information Mike would like high school football teams to see. As I see it, this is not only a tremendous opportunity for football teams to further their offensive skill position players, but also their defensive players as well.
The nuts and bolts of the 2016 State 7v7 High School Football Tournament as delivered by Mike Sautter.......
"We are excited to announce the return of the Nebraska High School Football 7v7 State Football Championship. Last years championship was very well received by participants, media and fans alike.
As you well know, 7v7 has taken over the football landscape throughout the country. The idea behind this event is to help even the playing field for the athletes from the state of Nebraska, even if it is just for one day.
This will be a great opportunity for Class A teams to potentially particiapte against Class C teams and the like. Easy to do on the basketball court, but difficult in football because of physicality, size and depth. 7v7 football with helmets, T-shirts, and shorts provides this unique opportunity.
Now for the Who, What, When, Where, How and cost of this event...........
Who: Any high school football team from the state of Nebraska that wants to particiapte regardless of classification. We will bracket each class, Class A thru 6-Man, into their own brackets. The winners of those brackets will be placed into the Championship Bracket and square off against each other.
When: Thursday, June 23rd, 2016. The first games will begin late afternoon with times to be determined. The ideal is to play the championship game under the lights!
Where: Bellevue West High School and Bellevue East High School.
How: If you would like to particpate, please fill out the team roster information sheet, read the rules, and have each player fill out the waiver form. The payment, rosters, and individual player waivers will be due on or before June 1st, 2016. The brackets will be sent to competing teams on or before June 15th, 2016.

Personally, I would like to see this Tournament swell to 40 schools and make this a great summetime football fix for fans and certainly a chance for high school football teams to sharpen their skill players for the upcoming Fall.
