Four Nebraska prep runners, a rarity for one year, reached the 5,000 yard career rushing milestone this past football season. One 11-Man back, Nick Arlt of Oakland-Craig (5,702), and three 8-Man running backs hit the prestigious mark in 2014. Only 36 backs in Nebraska prep football history have turned the trick.

The trio of 8-Man backs that reached the 5000 plateau were Hemingford's Ethan Skinner (6,139), Garrett Sonderup of Fullerton (5,678) and powerful running Dylan Loberg of Randolph (5,115). Last season D-1 South Dakota recruit Calvin Strong of Omaha North entered the 5,000 Yard Career Rushing Club and is now the leading 11-Man runner in Nebraska Prep history.
