In an absolute beautiful setting in the small town of Petersburg, Boone Central turned loose another Mazour and Pierce payed the price. Wyatt Mazour completed 14 of 19 passes for 195 yards, rushed for 111 yards on 10 carries, and danced 101 yards with an interception to lead Boone Central/Newman Grove to an astoundingly easy 48-7 win over Class C-1's number 2 Pierce. The 3rd rated Cardinals stymied the Pierce offense, holding the Bluejays to 62 yards on the ground and 137 through the air. Boone's front line was impressive and flowed to the ball, almost completely shutting off the run game.
The running clock went into effect with 9:30 left in the 3rd quarter after the Cardinals built a 35-0 lead. Boone Central/NG led 27-0 at the half.
