Final Big Brother Update
As the season finale of Big Brother 19 is fast approaching this will be my last update on the season. Last night (Wednesday 9/13) saw an unexpected eviction and new HOH crowned. Tonight will see another eviction and final three revealed. We already know one of the final three as Paul picked up his 3rd HOH of the season. I am of the opinion that Christmas may have thrown him the comp. This was his first HOH win since Week 5 and she seemed just too happy that he was getting answers right when she was getting them wrong. Anyways, on to the results from this week.
Raven was evicted by a vote of 2-1. She naturally went out in a Raveny way, yelling at Josh then doing a cartwheel and high kick on stage. Anyways.
Josh won his second HOH of the season. And it was once again a throw job initiated by Paul. The only reason he was wanting to throw the competition was so that they could get Alex out this week without any blood on his hands, but all he had to do was throw it to either Josh or Christmas. Instead he convinced Kevin he was throwing it to Christmas when he was, in fact, throwing it to Josh. Kevin would have actually won this HOH as well if he had not thrown it.
Josh put up Alex and Kevin for eviction. At this point Paul went into #sadPaul mode trying to convince Alex he had no idea this was coming but that Kevin was the real target. Alex did not buy it as she was done at this point with the game because of what had happened to Jason. However, she continued playing Paul's game which would lead to her downfall.
In the POV competition only Christmas did not play as she was ruled out medically. Paul picked up his 4th POV win. Alex was happy because she was convinced that Paul would pull her down. Paul then came to her in #sadPaul mode and told her that it was the others that wanted her gone and if he did not go with them he would lose their jury votes. Truth be told, no matter how the show sold it, this was Paul's goal all along. Neither Christmas or Josh told him not to pull her down. Alex did not buy it either and called Paul a selfish player.
In the eviction Paul voted out Kevin and Christmas voted out Alex, as planned. This was Josh's big moment to flip what was left of the house upside down, but instead he took the easy way out and evicted Alex.
Paul won his 3rd HOH of the season as I mentioned above and nominated Josh (3rd nomination) and Kevin (4th nomination). Paul also picked up his 5th POV of the season. We will find out tonight if he uses the POV tonight and who gets evicted to set up the final three. As of now it should be Paul, Christmas, and Kevin. However, I could very easily see Christmas (who is the lone voter tonight) voting out Josh and taking Kevin to the final three.
RECAP
Evicted - Raven 2-1 vote
HOH - Josh (2nd win)
Noms - Alex (4th nomination) and Kevin (3rd nomination)
POV - Paul (4th win) - Did not use POV, noms stayed the same
Evicted - Alex 2-1 vote (Paul voted out Kevin, Christmas voted out Alex. Josh broke tie sending Alex out)
HOH - Paul (3rd win)
Noms - Josh (3rd nomination) and Kevin (4th nomination)
POV - Paul (5th win)
Rankings
4. Kevin
You have to give Kevin a lot of credit. He has managed not to win a single comp this season but has a chance of making it to the final three. I do expect him to be evicted tonight, because I believe (and I think the other three feel the same) that if he is taken to final two he can win against all three just because he is Kevin.
3. Josh
Josh lasted so much longer than I expected him to. I thought because of his anger control issues he would be one of the first to be picked off. He almost was until Paul saw a use in him which is why he is liable to get to the final three and more than likely final two.
2. Christmas
She broke her foot in the first week of the season and yet has a realistic shot at making the final two. The only way she is going to do it is to have Josh or Paul take her. The last three comps for the finale are typically very physical and Christmas is likely not going to be cleared to play. If so she will have to rely on someone else taking her to the final two.
1. Paul
Paul has played a dominant season so far. He has won 3 HOHs and 5 POVs. Plus he had a hand in almost every single eviction this season. His downfall could be that the majority of the POVs he won this season were thrown to him and he did not win them outright. He has played a particularly dirty game this season, but that has led to wins in the past. The only solid vote against him (yes I am guessing) at this point seems to be Cody. Jason and Alex should have the biggest gripes against him and vote for whoever is sitting next to him, but Alex has signaled not only to him but in the DR she still plans to vote for him and could draw Jason with her. There are 9 jurors this year so he needs to get 5 people to vote for him. I am saying all of this on the assumption that he makes the final two.
