Big Brother 19 Week 7 Recap and Updates
Jessica was evicted by a 7-1-0 vote (Raven received a vote from Cody, Elena had no votes). In both of her post-game interviews she still could not get her head around the idea that she threw her own game away for Cody and that was the reason she was evicted. It had nothing to do with the house guests being "afraid". Though she did get what she went into the game for, a showmance.
The HOH comp was another true/false comp which Alex won making her HOH. The Temptation Comp was a memory game. The house guests had to remember where they were when a sound was pumped through the loudspeakers and stand in the correct spot on a huge map of the house. Matt agreed to throw the comp to make sure Cody could not throw it. Mark won safety for the week after getting every clue right (he won 2 of the 3 Temptation Comps). Matt got every question wrong but was still able to beat out Cody who got one question right. Cody decided to stand in the Have-Not room for all the answers (instead of, say, the HOH room where he never stepped foot in during Josh's reign). Matt became the third nominee.
Alex decided to nominate Elena and Jason as pawns in order to try to backdoor Cody. Elena, for some reason, took huge offense to being put on the block for the second week. She made a big stink over it causing Alex to question whether she wanted to target Cody or Elena. This is the second week in a row that Elena has put a target on herself with no need.
The POV Comp was an old, but popular game of rewards and curses. The lowest number in each round was out and had to claim their prize. During the comp Elena made a deal with Alex that they would not give each other any curses. Elena ended up with the win but was awarded a curse which she could trade with any of the other prizes. The POV was still out there, but Elena decided to take Alex's $5,000 instead of the POV and preceded to give Alex a curse.
Matt, as agreed upon, took Jason off the block and Alex put Cody up in his place. Despite how the show played it out the target is still Cody, but Elena is the top target after Cody goes.
This week's show is a double eviction so two people will be going to Jury this week. I am leaving for Nebraska today for a fantasy football draft and solar eclipse, so I will not be updating as the week goes. I will provide a full update when I get back.

Rankings
11. Cody
Cody is all but certain to be evicted for the second time this season. He finally decided to play the game and has mostly laid low this week encouraging Elena to put a bigger target on herself. When she could not decide whether to take the POV or $5000, Cody encouraged her to take the money, knowing that it would put a huge target on her. However, since he is on the block the target is still fully on him. He believes the house is afraid of him and his strong game, but he actually does not have a strong game. He was one HOH at the beginning of the season and won his way back into the house but has won absolutely nothing else this season. He really does not understand that the house wants him out because of his attitude and poisonous behavior.
10. Elena
Elena does not handle pressure well, even when there is not actually any pressure. She has been put on the block for two consecutive weeks as a pawn and has managed to put a huge target on herself. Both weeks she has managed to make both HOHs mad at her by her response to being used as a pawn. As of now she is the biggest target not named Cody in the game. Unless her or Mark can win HOH tonight, it is likely she will be the second juror by the end of the show tonight.
9. Mark
Mark's constant flip-flopping depending on who is in power has made him as big a target as Elena. He has admitted to the flip-flopping but what has put a bigger target on him is his decision to stick with Cody even though Cody has had no power since week 1. I still believe Elena is the larger target but will not be surprised if he gets evicted before her.
8. Raven
Raven's constant need to top stories and having a sob story for every situation has begun to annoy most of the house. She has a need to be the most important person in the room, to the point that almost anytime she starts telling a story someone will leave the room just to not have to listen to her. Fortunately there are three larger targets in the house right, so she should be good for at least another two weeks.
7. Kevin
Kevin will most likely win America's Favorite Player this year (outside of Josh) but he has a knack of trying to make deals with other players for his side of the house without talking to anyone on his side of the house. It always gets back to everyone and it's possible once Cody, Elena, and Mark are out of the house he could quickly become a top target. Having said that, once those targets are gone Kevin will not have anyone else to make deals with and could easily slip into a final three or two deal.
6. Matt
Despite doing everything the house wanted him to do this week he is still a marked man. The house guests like him but do not trust him at the same time. It is an odd mix. Some believe that he is purposely being horrible at the game (I am still torn) but he is one of the top targets after the big three are gone. There is nothing really remarkable about Matt in the game other than that he is the comedian in the house and is more likely to try to stop fights rather than causing them.
5. Christmas
In reality Christmas should not have made it this far after breaking her foot. She is not a target of anyone but she is extremely "salty" (her words) towards several other people in the house. She may go out of this game without actually winning anything. She will not win AFP and she probably will not make the top 2. She is a floater without actually being a floater.
4. Josh
Josh is a strong contender to win AFP this year because of his fights with Jody and his ability to stand up to their bullying. That is about all he may win as no one has made a final two deal with him. I honestly do not know at this point if he could even win if he made it to the top 2.
3. Jason
Jason is all but assured the final four (unless something drastic happens - Mark or Elena winning HOH). He has been a decent competitor but is the life of the house with the way he behaves. He has potential to make the final 2 and could potentially win if he lucks out.
2. Alex
Alex is top player in the house who is not named Paul. She has won HOH twice and is in full control in the house. If she makes the final 2 with anyone in the house she is going to win. At this point I do not even see Paul beating her in the final 2.
1. Paul
Paul is the veteran in the house and has had a hand in every single eviction this season. If the winner were selected solely based on power and involvement in evictions Paul would win going away. However, he has been a little over bearing at times and he may not be able to win if he gets to the final 2 no matter who he goes up against. He has said several times that he does not expect to win the game but only wanted to get to jury. However, I really believe that he expects to win the game. He is going to need to chill out in a hurry if he truly wants to win the game.
Prediction
I fully expect Cody to be evicted tonight potentially in a 7-0 vote. If all goes to plan either Elena or Mark will be the second evictee in the double eviction.
