Good to See You Again
My absence
So you may have noticed that I have been off the website since January. Truth be told I have been writing my political stories on a different website. While that will continue I am making a return to the McCook Gazette website but will no longer be blogging about politics. Again I am doing that on another site and doing politics on two separate websites would be a little much. So what will I be writing about?
Big Brother
As you saw last year I am a big fan of the reality show Big Brother. Putting 16 people from around the country in a house together with no connection to the outside world (no phones, no computers, no tv) is a great experiment and I have been watching since season 7. Just like last year I will be writing about the show while it is on giving updates and predictions about what is going on in the show.
Football
Specifically college and NFL football. Last year I started out doing rankings in both college and the NFL but kind of fell off. I will be doing that again this year but will be more focused on it. Each week I will give out my own rankings in both sports and even talk about the must see games of the week and give my predictions for those games.
Politics will not completely disappear
From time to time I will talk about politics but it will only be during election years (2018 and 2020 coming up). I will again be talking mostly about polls and how elections will play out. Even though 2016's national polls were mostly correct (on average they predicted a 3.9% win for Clinton and she won by 2.1%) the state polls were a disaster, specifically in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. In other words, despite the state misses I still believe the pollsters mostly get it correct even when they have an off year.
However, for the rest of this year you will see no other mentions of politics from me and more than likely will not see anything from me until mid 2018 if not later. This all depends on how much coverage there is of the primary elections. Election years have become a spectator even more than ever so while it is possible that there will be coverage of primaries I am not expecting deep coverage.
I will talk to you all again next Thursday.
