The Resistance Movement

A lot has been made of Donald Trump's stunning upset in the electoral college over Hillary Clinton. Sure, he lost the general election by nearly 3 million votes (as of this writing) more than an presidential candidate who has won the White House without winning the popular vote, and sure every state pick up that he made (Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin) all had exit polling showing the results being much different than they actually ended up being.

Sure, both the CIA and FBI have evidence that Russia attempted or succeeded to hack voting machines to ensure that a lackey like Trump would win the White House, but what about those Clinton emails. Thank God we do not have to hear about that level of corruptness again. All is clear sailing.

Sure, Trump swore up and down that if elected he would drain the swamp and then immediately started appointing people very representative of the very swamp he was supposed to drain.

Sure, he promised to prosecute Hillary Clinton on something if he won, and that he would get rid of the Affordable Care Act, and deport all the illegals, and make all the Muslims register that they are Muslim only to completely walk back all those claims.

Donald Trump did not win a mandate as you have no doubt been hearing for the last month and probably believe. At this point, Hillary Clinton is closer to an actual mandate than Trump will ever get. You have probably heard and more than likely believe that this was some kind of electoral landslide while the actual truth is very far from that landslide.

Whether you believe it or not, and frankly I could not care less whether you believe it because since this election you seem to have more faith in the Russian president than in your own government which is scary enough, this is not about Hillary Clinton losing.

This is about your tacit and gleeful endorsement and support of a man that represents the absolute worst in human nature. In Trump's America you are allowed to hate those that do not look like you, do not act like you, and do not believe like you. Only now, you can actually act on it and our supposed "liberal" media will completely ignore it.

Just to be clear I do not hate you, I am embarrassed by you. This is not the America that is the beacon on the hill for the rest of world. Your continued support for a man who does not have even the slightest understanding of how our Constitution is supposed to work is more telling than anything else he has done or you have supported.

For eight years you questioned the legitimacy of a man duly and fairly elected as president simply because of the color of his skin. You demonized a man who was a constitutional lawyer because you believed he did not understand the constitution. For eight years you yelled at everyone about how this man was coming for your guns even though you gained more rights as a gun owner under him. You belittled him for eight years for taxing you to death even while your tax rate was steadily decreasing. For eight years you questioned his love for his country for no other reason than to question it.

Now all of a sudden you believe that any thing remotely looking like disrespect of President-elect Trump is un-American. Yeah, good luck with that. Our Democratic leaders in Washington may all be sniveling little cronies but the rest of us are ready to stand up against this man-child that has been "elected". Respect is a funny thing, because it works both ways. I have watch and thoroughly criticized you for eight years every single time you have disrespected President Obama so excuse me while I chuckle at your mere mention of respecting Donald Trump.

I know that you think you understand the Constitution and how the electoral college system works and how it is intended to work but you have been force fed information and only happily ate it up if it allowed you to smile and nod and look the other way as Trump comes closer to his inaugural day. The truth is so far different than what you have led to believe. One of the main reasons we have this archaic system was actually originally intended to defend slave states. At the time, the higher populated states were in the northeast and they had already begun moving away from slavery. States like Virginia south were very much tied to slavery so that is why we got the electoral college system, 2 members per each state in the senate, and representation based on population in the House. The other reason that we have the electoral college is to make sure instances like what we are facing right now actually do not happen. It was designed to keep a foreign entity from essentially hacking our system and installing a puppet president.

There have been murmurs and speculation that there may be enough electoral voters not wanting to vote for Trump to actually keep him from the White House. Sadly, as divided as our political system has become this will not happen as politicians no longer have spines.

It is interesting that the only Republican still willing to stand up to Trump is Romney. They had a meeting the other week and it has now been reported that the purpose of the meeting was so that Trump could force an apology out of Romney. Romney allegedly refused. There is no way to know if this is true as neither man has denied or confirmed the story.

I know you do not care about any of this. Trump joked during the primary that he could shoot a person in New York and his supporters would not care. After this election and the last month he is 100% correct.

Just look at your own behavior and actions. The cast of Hamilton simply requested that Pence work for all of us, not some of us and you immediately tried to get a boycott of the show started. It was well known that the CEO of Starbuck's was not a fan of Trump's so some guy decided that a protest was in order so he decided to tell everyone to go into a Starbuck's order a drink, and then give their name as Trump so that baristas would have to say that name. Who cares that you were actually giving money to Starbuck's by doing this you went in full steam. Then a random guy who had never seen Rogue One (because it was not out yet) or had any knowledge of what was in the film decided on his own that the reason for the re-shoots during the summer was because they had decided to put an anti-Trump message in the film (I have seen the film and there is no message). You bought it hook line and sinker and demanded a boycott of the movie. Yet when it became clear that Russia attempted (or did) to sabotage the election you turned against our security agencies and defended Russia. When Trump began hiring people that were either a part of Wall Street or had been in Washington for decades instead of draining the swamp as he promised, you shrugged your shoulders. When he immediately went back on his promise to prosecute Hillary Clinton, decided not to get rid of the ACA, decided that deporting millions of people in the country illegally was not worth attempting you cheered him.

He is your president, this is your mess.

There will be a resistance movement against Trump that will not be covered by the media as they are more concerned with what Kanye and Trump talked about.

The war is not over, even though the battle has been lost.

The electoral college vote is scheduled for Monday, December 12. I do not see any electors changing their votes. I could be surprised, this is 2016 after all, but I'm not expecting it.

But damn, what about Clinton's emails?
