Week 4 NFL Rankings
Figures, I talk up the Patriots and they lay an egg against the Bills and drop from the undefeateds. In related news, Tom Brady returns from his "no way this is real" suspension.
RANKINGS
1. Denver Broncos (up 1) 4-0
It looks like the Broncos are for real. The amazing thing is that Gary Kubiak is actually running the offense he wants to run instead of the offense he ran under Peyton Manning. Trevor Siemian was injured but it was not a major injury and is expected to play next week.
2. Minnesota Vikings (up 3) 4-0
I keep expecting the bottom to fall out for the Vikings but so far that has not happened. Sam Bradford has been working with this offense for exactly four weeks, which means with each new week he should actually get better.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (no change) 3-0
The Eagles had a bye week this week so they stay at last week's ranking.
4. New England Patriots (down 3) 3-1
The Patriots looked horrible with the third string QB in. Tom Brady returns from suspension and considering the Pats are 3-1 he comes back to a team with a good record.
5. Dallas Cowboys (up 1) 3-1
The Cowboys looked like they were going to go back to their old ways without Tony Romo, losing their first game without him. They have won three straight since then and are looking like the class act of the NFC East.
6. Pittsburg Steelers (up 6) 3-1
7. Oakland Raiders (up 6) 3-1
8. Baltimore Ravene (down 4) 3-1
9. Green Bay Packers (down 1) 2-1
10. Houston Texans (up 1) 3-1
11. Seattle Seahawks (down 1) 3-1
12. Atlanta Falcons (up 3) 3-1
13. Rams (up 2) 3-1
14. Buffalo Bills (up 2) 2-2
15. Washington (up 13) 2-2
16. Kansas City Chiefs (down 9) 2-2
17. New York Giants (down 7) 2-2
18. Cincinnati Bengals (up 5) 2-2
19. Jacksonville Jaguars (up 10) 1-3
20. Chicago Bears (up 10) 1-3
21. Indianapolis Colts (down 2) 1-3
22. San Diego Chargers (down 2) 1-3
23. Miami Dolphins (down 2) 1-3
24. Tennessee Titans (down 2) 1-3
25. Arizona Cardinals (down 7) 1-3
26. New York Jets (no change) 1-3
27. Carolina Panthers (down 10) 1-3
28. New Orleans Saints (up 3) 1-3
The Saints finally got a win but they still look like a bad team in a bad division. They could make the playoffs with a losing record but alas they would still be a bad team.
29. Detroit Lions (down 5) 1-3
Falling this far back in the NFC North is not going to be good for the Lions this year. Yes, the Vikings could fall back to earth, but that still leaves the Packers out there. The Lions haven't played horribly but they are not winning.
30. San Francisco 49ers (down 3) 1-3
The 49ers got off to a good start completely outplaying the Rams and have done nothing since, losing three straight games. It may be time to put in Colin Kaepernick since his style of play matches the offense much better than Gabbert.
31. Tampa Bay Bucs (down 6) 1-3
They are on a different trajectory than the Cowboys. Their QB is not injured and yet the Bucs have lost three straight games. With the Falcons looking decent this year losing ground this early could spell disaster for the other teams in the NFL South.
32. Cleveland Browns (no change) 0-4
Awful. Just awful. I have no idea if the Browns will even win a game this year. History says they will, but I simply do not see a winnable game on their schedule. With their continued issues at QB maybe they will actually pick a decent QB in the next draft. Yes, week 4 and it is already time for the Browns to start thinking about the draft.
